Types of Walks
The club aims to provide a variety of walks to suit the varied interests, needs and abilities of its members.
Sunday Walks
(Fortnightly: Gentle to Easy, suitable for all walkers)
The club meets every other Sunday throughout the year These walks usually alternate between short (up to 5 miles) and longer (7 to 9 miles) and are usually within an hours drive of Solihull.
The Walk Leader will have already walked the route and will provide advice on any specific hazards.

Wednesday Walks
(Monthly: Easy to Moderate, suitable for walkers happy to walk up to 11 miles)
Our midweek walks offer members a slightly longer route and are usually around 8 to 11 mile walks (occasionally they may be slightly longer). These walks are normally within a two hour drive of Solihull.
Please note that on occasions the walk leader may not have previously walked the route and therefore they will not always be able to advise of any specific hazards.

Long Distance Trails
(Saturdays, monthly. Suitable for regular walkers)
Our long distance trails are based on the signposted national trails. Each trail is broken down into individual legs of around 10 to 12 miles and are generally regarded as moderate to hard walks including potentially some moderate level of ascent.
Due to the nature of long trails each leg is a linear walk with different start and finish points. Members usually meet at the finish of the days walk and the club organises minibus transport to the start. The costs for the minibus are shared amongst the group attending and as such it is very important that we know the number of members wishing to join the walk in advance. In addition each walker is encouraged to contribute a small amount towards the charities that the club is currently supporting when making the payment for the transport.
Walkers are encouraged to car share to the meeting point which can be one to two hours away.

Walking Breaks
The club offers a number of opportunities for extended breaks including :-
Club Walking Breaks
The club organises occasional weekend breaks around the UK which includes accommodation.
HF Guided Walking Breaks
The club organises a walking break at an HF Holidays location each year, where we get full board accommodation and a choice of walks in places such as Exmoor, St. Ives and the Yorkshire Dales. As we need to book the holiday some 12 months in advance, details are published around July and the walking breaks take place the following July.
Tough Trails (mostly, weekends – Suitable for experienced walkers)
These walks are generally hard to severe, sometimes with more than 2000 feet of ascent, and can be 13-15 miles. We have walked long distance paths such as Offa’s Dyke, Two Moors Way and Hadrian’s Wall.
As they are typically 2-3 hours away with long walks, we usually stay away in a youth hostel or in a bunkhouse and do two days walking. Costs are shared by those taking part.

Other Walks
